What is the purpose of this Privacy Policy?

Illuminate Publishing Ltd is committed to ensuring your privacy is protected. A data privacy law, GDPR was introduced in the UK in 2018, and as a result our Privacy Policy ensures it is easier for you to find out how we use and protect your information. This policy details the information we collect, how we use, protect and share your personal data to ensure this information remains confidential.

We collect information about you for three reasons:

  • To process your order,
  • To allow us from time to time to provide you with information offers and promotions regarding forthcoming publications
  • To provide you with the best possible service

Except as explained in this policy statement, we will not release any personal information to a third party under any circumstances unless expressly authorised to do so by you.

All information will be dealt with in accordance with the new Data Protection Act and we will always aim to meet current Internet best practices.

The type of information we will collect about you includes:

  • IP address (for Digital Book Bundle purchases – see the Digital Book Bundle section)

How do we use and protect this information?

Purchases made via our website

If you set up an account on our website, all information you provide to us is stored on our secure web server. Any payment transactions on our website are processed securely via our payment service provider PayPal, your card information is not held by us. This means it’s safe for you to input sensitive information, such as your credit card number, when you place an order for any goods via our online shop.

Telephone orders

If you place an order with us over the phone, we may request your debit or credit card details. The personal information and credit card details that we request are only used by us to fulfil your order.  We do not store any debit or credit card information. Your debit or credit card details are processed by our payment service provider PayPal® who keep records on a secure basis. If you place an order with us we require your email address, contact details (including telephone number) and postal address in order to process your order and deliver your products.

Our telephone line is answered by a third party provider who work on our behalf, The VA Team Ltd, who ensure that client confidentiality and privacy is maintained.  Please see the The VA Team’s Privacy Policy

Email, Fax and Postal Orders

If you place an order with us we require your email address, contact details (including telephone number) and postal address in order to process your order and deliver your products. Email and fax orders are sent to a password protected email account.  Postal orders come to our registered company address.

Digital Book Bundle Orders

When you purchase a Digital Book Bundle, we require institutional contact information including the key contact’s email address. The data that we hold is stored in a password-protected area. We store and monitor the IP Addresses from which you sign in to the Digital Book Bundle to check that the Bundle is only being used by the institution who purchased it. These logs are anonymized for data protection.

Digital App Downloads

When you download or purchase one of our apps, the app store’s own privacy policy will apply to any personal data you provide them with. We do not collect or store any personal data in relation to your use of our apps.

Website Forms:

Digital Evaluations

An email address and institution address are required so that we can send out logins and passwords to teachers to view the Digital book evaluations via a password protected secure website.  The contact information is stored in a secure password protected document.

Printed Book Evaluations

Contact details are required so that we can send out printed book evaluations. The contact information is stored in a secure password protected document.

Other webforms

We utilise other forms on our website when we offer trials of material and downloads of other products.  The contact information is stored in a secure password protected document.

Fulfilling your order

When you make a purchase or evaluate our printed books, the contact information that you provide is then transferred to our secure accounting software for invoicing and your contact details passed onto our distributor, PDX for delivery purposes.

Information for our accounts

The personal information that is required for our accounts is kept securely, and only for as long as required by law. All information will be kept confidential.   We store information for invoice/payment purposes to ensure payment of goods.

While we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of any information you transmit to us, and you do so at your own risk. Once we receive your information, we make our best effort to ensure its security on our systems. Where we have given (or where you have chosen) a password which enables you to access certain services, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share your password with anyone.

We seek to comply with the Data Protection Act and take all reasonable care to prevent any unauthorised access to your personal data. We use appropriate technical and organisational measures and precautions in order to protect your personal data and to prevent the loss, misuse or alteration of your personal information.

Information, offers and promotions

If you are a teacher at a school or educational institution, when you request a product from us, with your consent we may record your email address for marketing purposes. We will not pass on your information to third parties for marketing purposes. You are given the option to unsubscribe to our emails at the bottom of any email message we send to you.

Who do we share your data with?

Your information may be collected or passed onto our third party service providers, agents subcontractors and other associated organisations for the purposes of completing tasks and providing services to you on our behalf.  However, when we use third party service providers, we disclose only the personal information that is necessary to deliver the service and if they are processing data, we have a data processing agreement in place that requires them to keep your information secure.

We will not sell or rent your information to third parties.

We will not share your information with third parties for marketing purposes.

Third Party Digital Service Providers:

InTouch

We use a third party provider called InTouch to deliver our marketing emails. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies including clear gifs to help us monitor and improve our email marketing. Haremi
