Choosing your major activity 1 Remember: You will be assessed in three activities, one of which will be a major activity carrying a higher weighting, plus two minor activities each having a lower weighting. Choose one to be your major activity and then you can start to write a personal tness programme (PFP). Things to think about when choos ing your major act i v i ty Your major activity does not have to be your strongest and you will not be assessed on whether or not improvements have occurred through your training programme, but you will be assessed on the following: WJEC objectives 1. A self-analysis of current tness level 2. Recommendations to improve tness and performance in the major activity 3. A plan of the tness programme 4. Completion and monitoring the programme 5. Evaluation of the programme 6. Recommendations for improvements to personal performance in the major activity 7. Spelling, punctuation and grammar (SPaG). See p. 6 for the WJEC marking criteria. Eduqas objectives 1. A self-analysis of current performance levels in one of the chosen practical activities 2. A plan of the training programme with a clear objective 3. Completion and monitoring of the training programme 4. An evaluation of the training programme and the results 5. Recommendations for improvements to personal performance . See p. 7 for the Eduqas marking criteria. A ‘higher weighting’ means it is worth more marks! Look at the objectives for the specification you are following! Individual activity Comments Sailing [Awarded from 2022 onwards] Royal Yachting Association recognised sailing boat classes only. Students must perform as helmsman Sculling Cannot be assessed with rowing, canoeing or kayaking. Cannot be assessed with team sculling Skiing Outdoor/indoor on snow.
