APPRAISING 6 SECTION 1 THE ELEMENTS OF MUSIC What Do I Need To Know? This section is intended to remind you of the basic information about the elements of music. You need to remember: that you have to apply the elements of music to every area of study that your answers in the Appraising paper must focus on recognising and understanding the elements of music that the performance of your selected pieces must reflect an understanding of the required musical elements (such as dynamics, tempo and rhythm) that your compositions must demonstrate technical control of the musical elements.
